The Swanzey Police Department is one of the largest police departments in Cheshire County. It is a full-time police agency staffed with twelve full-time officers, a full-time civilian criminal investigator/crime scene technician and a full-time office manager.
The staff at the Swanzey Police Department enjoys working out of a modern, newly constructed facility. We have a fleet of five marked black and white Ford Crown Victoria police cruisers and two unmarked vehicles. Among the diverse programs the Swanzey Police Department supports is a full-time School Resource Officer (SRO) at the Monadnock Regional Middle/Sr High School. The Department has previously supported a K-9 unit, an officer assigned to the New Hampshire Regional Drug Task Force, and a police bike patrol, but those assignments are currently unfilled.
Our officers have assisted in developing Neighborhood Watch areas and groups. The department participates in the Monadnock Regional Senior High School Internship Program, and offers a ride-along program which provides residents an opportunity to learn more about their police department and what officers do to serve the community.
